Module 1: Security Concepts & Threat Actors
Introduction to key cybersecurity concepts, types of threats, vulnerabilities, and classification of malicious actors (hacktivists, insiders, APTs, etc.).
Module 2: Operating Systems – Windows and Linux
Exploration of operating systems from a security perspective: logs, processes, services, privileges, and native monitoring tools.
Module 3: Network Protocols & Connectivity
In-depth study of protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ARP, and their use in identifying anomalous traffic or network attacks.
Module 4: Network Device Security & Infrastructure
Analysis of the secure configuration of network devices (firewalls, routers, switches), segmentation, VLANs, and ACLs.
Module 5: Threat Analysis & Offensive Techniques
Recognition of common offensive techniques such as port scanning, exploits, and malware. Introduction to indicators of compromise (IoCs).
Module 6: Security Monitoring & Traffic Analysis
Use of tools such as Wireshark, SNORT, and SIEM systems to capture, visualize, and analyze traffic in real time.
Module 7: Endpoint Protection & Cryptography
Review of endpoint protection methods, antivirus, EDR, as well as an introduction to cryptography concepts: hash, symmetric/asymmetric encryption, certificates.
Module 8: Incident Response & Forensics
Application of procedures for detection, containment, eradication, and recovery from incidents. Introduction to basic forensic analysis in systems and networks.
Current process description
Certification that trains individuals in security operations, network monitoring, incident analysis, and response from a Security Operations Center (SOC). It includes the use of real tools, traffic scanning, and simulation of practical scenarios.
Objectives
Upon completion, the student will be able to:
- Identify threats and classify threat actors in network environments
- Analyze network traffic to detect intrusions (using Wireshark & NSM)
- Investigate events on Windows and Linux endpoints
- Apply incident response and digital forensics techniques
- Implement basic security controls on networks and devices
- Operate within a SOC using monitoring and alerting tools
Prerequisites
No prior knowledge is strictly required, but it is highly recommended that the candidate has:
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP and networking
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems
