Current process description
This program prepares students for two key Microsoft Azure certifications:
- Fundamentals (AZ-900) and Professional Administration (AZ-104)
- Students will develop a solid foundation in cloud concepts, architecture, service types, and pricing models, and then move on to the implementation, management, and technical monitoring of infrastructure in Azure
- Throughout the course, they will master identity management with Microsoft Entra ID, governance, costs, and compliance using Azure Policy and tags, as well as the provisioning of computing resources (virtual machines, containers, and App Services) and storage solutions
- They will also learn how to configure secure virtual networks, implement security controls and role-based access control (RBAC), and ensure operational continuity through monitoring with Azure Monitor and backup solutions
Objectives
• Learn key cloud concepts:
- Understand what cloud computing is, the IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models, and the differences between public, private, and hybrid clouds.
- • Understand the overall architecture: Learn how Azure regions, availability zones, and data centers work.
- • Manage budgets and costs: Use the pricing calculator and Azure tools to estimate, monitor, and optimize costs.
- • Manage users and access: Create users, groups, and licenses in Microsoft Entra ID and control who has access to what using RBAC (role-based access control).
- • Ensure governance: Enforce compliance policies with Azure Policy, organize resources with tags, and protect infrastructure using resource locks.
- • Create virtual machines: Provision, configure, resize, and manage virtual servers in the cloud.
- • Work with containers and apps: Deploy web applications with App Service and manage containers using Azure Container Instances and Container Apps.
- • Automate infrastructure: Design and deploy resources automatically using ARM templates and Bicep files (Infrastructure as Code).
- • Store data in the cloud: Create storage accounts, manage files with Azure Files, and store large amounts of data in Azure Blob Storage.
- • Secure and move files: Configure redundancy, encryption, SAS permissions, storage tiers, and migration tools.
Prerequisites
• Knowledge of operating systems and servers:
- Basic familiarity with how Windows Server or Linux environments work.
- • Networking fundamentals: Understanding of basic concepts such as IP addresses, subnets, DNS, and routing.
- • Basic understanding of virtualization: Understanding what a virtual machine is and how virtualized hardware works.
- • Basic IT experience: General knowledge of infrastructure, databases, or software development.
- • Use of command-line tools (preferred): Basic proficiency or interest in learning PowerShell or Azure CLI commands.
